Dean Peters - Director

During the past decades, Dean has accumulated technical, business and management experience in several different areas. His business career was centered on engineering sales, purchasing, marketing and customer service primarily with Ontario Hydro/Ontario Power Generation and several machinery manufacturers.

His current focus, since retirement, has been community service. As a Councilor for the Municipality of Trent Hills he served on the Board of Directors of the Lower Trent Conservation Authority and several other municipal committees such as Fire Service, Energy Management and Heritage. He is Chair of the Board of St. Paul’s United Church and is Vice Chair of The Bridge Hospice. Construction of this three bed hospice is scheduled to begin in April 2011.

Dean is also a past President of the Warkworth Community Service Club and currently serves as Chair of the Millenium Trail Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Lilac Festival in Warkworth in May of 2011 and served for 7 years on the Warkworth Business Association which included 3 terms as event manager for the Long Lunch in Warkworth.

These interests allowed him to exercise his extensive project management team building and analytical skills developed and utilize his engineering aptitude in dealing with the water/waste water systems and the roads and bridges of Trent Hills.

One of his most interesting opportunities was serving on the Federal Government panel in 2007 which examined the future of the Trent Severn Waterway. A report was issued in early 2008 and many of the recommendations are now being implemented.

A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan in Mechanical Engineering, he is currently a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
