As program Development Manager with the Northumberland CFDC for the past ten years, James facilitates online learning opportunities and community outreach programs including the management of the county-wide Hub Strategy in partnership with the County of Northumberland Social Services Department. With a background in business and journalism James has developed a number of innovative programs for all three levels of government over the years, particularly in the areas of youth engagement and employment.
James’s work with local initiatives illustrates his strong commitment to the surrounding community. His past positions have included Chair of Beyond the Blue Box, Board Member for United Way, Member of the Town of Cobourg Community Planning Committee and Marketing Chair for the Cobourg and District Chamber of Commerce. In addition to assisting a number of agencies with funding and grant proposals James is a co-founder and current vice-chair of the Transition House homeless shelter in Cobourg. The shelter was established in direct response to a report on rural homelessness that he authored for the Federal government. Currently residing in Cobourg he is the proud father of two teenage boys.
