A representative for the Township of Alnwick/ Haldimand, Robert Olson's distinguished education and career history has proven an indispensable asset to the Board of Directors since his involvement in 1990.
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Food Science, Bob also completed a Masters of Science in Chemistry and Microbiology. This experience paved the way for his introduction to the packaged goods industry where Bob built a career, retiring as the Director of Manufacturing for several General Foods manufacturing operations in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Bob extends his passion for manufacturing and its importance to the economic health of the region through his work the Northumberland Manufacturers' Association. In his previous capacity as Director, Bob has contributed to the strategic steering of initiatives and energies toward the pursuit of excellence in Advanced Manufacturing.
Dedicated to his community, Bob is an active retiree and is involved in a diverse array of organizations within the Township of Alnwick/ Haldimand and the surrounding area. Bob's interests and pursuits include his church, choir, golf, skiing and woodworking. Bob served as Director of the Northumberland Business Assistance, and Vice-Chairman of Eastern Ontario Network Inc. In this position, Bob worked synergistically to poise both the local area and the eastern region for economic prosperity and growth. Bob and his wife Leila make time for their four sons and eight grandchildren spread throughout North America, while they reside in Alnwick/ Haldimand.
