Focused on the engagement and retention of youth, the Northumberland Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) was established in the fall of 2005 with the assistance of a Steering Committee that included the County and business and youth representatives. The NYAC is made up of approximately 23 young people between the ages of 14-24 working in partnership with NCFDC and the County of Northumberland to address issues faced by youth in our community.
The four key areas for development for the NYAC are:
- Social Connectivity and Civic Education
- Recreational & Cultural Activities
- Youth Information Services
- Youth Employment Services
